Armond "Willie" Franklin Williams Jr., a beloved father, veteran, and dedicated public servant, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on December 22, 1935, in Garrrett, Indiana, to Armond F. Williams, Sr. and LaVon E. (nee Hill) Mowry. Willie spent his life with a deep commitment to family, community, and country. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Willie served his nation with honor, exemplifying the values of service and patriotism. Following his military career, he devoted his professional life to public service as a Postmaster for the City of Ross, where he was known for his kindness and unwavering commitment to the community.

Willie was not only a diligent worker but also a man of simple pleasures. An avid golfer, he cherished the camaraderie of friends on the course. In his leisure time, he enjoyed going to casinos especially his weekly Wednesday casino outings with his longtime buddy, Bob Beard, which he treasured their time together. Willie indulged in his favorite pastime of lottery scratch-offs each evening, his sparkling eyes reflecting the joy of those small thrills. Willie cherished his nightly companionship with his beloved Husky, Angel. He also looked forward to his vacations in New Orleans, where he delighted in the vibrant culture, music, and cuisine that the city had to offer.

Willie's spirit shone brightest in his role as a beloved husband to the late Peggyann H. (nee Hauser) Williams, devoted father to Michelle (Doug) Hull, Gregory (late Tina) Williams and Kelly Marie (Mark) Taylor, as a Papa to Scott Schaffer, Sean (Jamie) Schaffer, Dustin (Hilary) Schaffer, Andrew (Caitlin) Williams, Gregory "GR" (Julie) Williams, Mark Taylor and Eric (Leah) Taylor and Old Papa to Kenleigh, Olivia, Breana, Hudson, Audrey, Mark, Averi and Cael. Willie is preceded in death by his sisters, Beverly Byrge and Bernice High. He took immense pride in attending sporting events to support his great-grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments with a heart full of love and encouragement. Willie will be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and the indelible mark he left on the lives of those around him.

Funeral services will be held at Little Flower Church, 5560 Kirby Rd., on Thursday, January 23, 2025. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and share cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greater Cincinnati Down Syndrome Association , 4623 Wesley Avenue, Suite A, Cincinnati, OH 45212.
